Alright you came to the right place. My wife doesn't want an antenna on the house so I stuck it in a tree. First you nedd to get up in the tree as high as you can without falling or breaking any branches. This is how I did mine. My son and I got up the tree and set an antenna l bracket into the tree to set the antenna on. Then we set the antenna on it and secured it with metal strip banding ( you can get it at Lowes or home depot) About 2ft from the bottom of the antenna attach one end of the band to the treeand wrap it around the tree crossing over the bottom of the antenna. Now move up about 4ft and attach another band in the same manner you did on the bottom.

Make sure you have enough coax and connect it to the connector on the bottom of the antenna. Connect the radio and you are set to go. That simple Answered on Jun 01, 2015. Hello, Connie - I checked the Ultimate Ears website. This is the link to the home page: In the upper left corner of the home page you will see the 3 horizontal lines icon for a menu.

I chose that. One of the options on the next page is for Support. One of the products listed on the Support page is: Boom. I chose that.

The choice brought me to the Frequently Asked Questions for the Boom: On that page, near the top, on the far left is the choice for How to Guide. I chose that. I was taken to this web page: You will see a menu of instructions on the How to Guide page. I suspect the packaging that came with your Boom gave the web address for the How to Guide.

Best wishes. Answered on Feb 10, 2018.

I did see the mixed reviews. They are normal for about any antenna. I need to know what kinds of radials, mounting etc. I just have the three sticks that screw into each other.

Don't do that. Leave it as is. About all the three radials on the bottom due is possible decouple the feedline a bit. It will work fine with or without.

Adjust the two rings almost all the way out and it should hit fine on ten meters. The antenna works on 15 also with about a 1.5 to 1. I never tried it on 12.

I doubt it will do much below 15 meters. I ran an antron I picked up at the dump here on 10 meters (guy beside me was throwing it away-just couldn't let him do that grin).

Just recently, someone thought so much of it-they stole it off the tower!!! Used it on cb here too, two major interstates here and lots of truckers.

I replaced it with a 1/2 wave length of thinwall conduit and stainless whip for a 16 foot length-it is fed with a gamma match and works better than the antron ever did. Not as good as the antron on the chicken band though. Warmest regards, John 'Dan/W4NTI' wrote in message nk.net. 'John Smith' wrote in message. I recently acquired one and would like to know more. First of all, Thank you to all who responded. I looked up the references I could and read about the antenna. I think I learned what I need to know about it.

I was given the antenna, so I have no cost involved and no loss here. This is what I understand about the antenna at this time.

It would appear that the antenna manufacturer markets this antenna by way of a hyped-up techno-babble description that may not even be accurate, and exaggerated gain. The antenna is primarily a CB design, but the matching network allows the antenna to be tuned so that it may have acceptable SWR on 15-10 meters but probably not on 20 meters without a tuner. With a tuner, the antenna will function on 20-10 meters. Hams with experience with this antenna find it to be lossy compared to a common dipole, however, it will function as a vertical without radials at whatever desired elevation. My plans are to play with it enough to test it and either keep it as just something I can use without a tuner or to give it away. More comments are welcome. Thank you all again.
